The United Nations is holding a bloggers’ chat series on development issues that are relevant to many Filipinos and that may influence the next stage of global development planning in the next two years. The UN believes that it should leverage on the power of social media, and the effectiveness of social media influencers - such as bloggers – in shaping public knowledge and in creating a more engaged community that continuously generates new knowledge and information. Thus – this invitation to you all!
At the UN Office last October 2, three Country Representatives (UN Development Programme, Food and Agriculture Organization, and World Food Programme) will interact with you in an informal, roundtable chat, pretty much a free-wheeling discussion, on the issues of climate change, food security, and nutrition.
Sad to say, I failed to attend that said forum 'cause I'm busy with my acads.
However, they just announced that there will be another forum!
The 3rd leg of UN chat with the ILO Director, Lawrence Jeff Johnson, on youth employment will be held on Oct 16, 2013 (Wed) at 2PM, and with the UNAIDS Country Coordinator, Teresita Bagasao, on HIV/AIDS, immediately following the talk of ILO. The venue will be in Makati.
For invites, please send me an email at dovisabong@gmail.com and please do share with your fellow bloggers as well!
