BUROT BEACH

My friends and I have been planning to go to the beach since the start of the year and because we are still students, we looked for a place that can fit our budget. We've come across different options but only one place caught our attention.
We had our summer escapade last May 3 til May 4, 2013

The sky is perfect for our getaway!!
 |
The adventure team, less the photographer... and the cook. Lol
|
We dropped by the supermarket first for our "baon" because there are no stores near the area. (Yes, it is kinda secluded)
 |
| We love the Beach!! |
Burot Beach is located in Calatagan, Batangas. It is a private property which is now owned by Mr. Henry Sy. (The security guards roaming the place has the logo of SM on their uniform. Lol) It is an estimated 4-5 hours drive from Manila to Burot. The place is really hard to find, that's why most of the visitors rely on private transportation. Good thing one of our friend has a van that we could use. The entrance fee was P130 per head if staying overnight. You could also rent a table for P200 and tent for P300(I think?)
I can't really give you instructions on "how to get there", but as far as I could remember, we drive to the main town of Calatagan and the locals can lead you to Burot .:)

| We arrived just in time for sunset |
 |
| My favorite sunset pic of myself. Haha. |
We explored the place as soon as we arrived. The place was truly amazing. It was my first time to witness sea creatures in actual life. Haha. Electricity haven't reached the area yet that's why it is really dark at night. It is the best place for bonfire! You can buy panggatong in the area for P200. However, we preferred to look for our own panggatong instead to save money. =)) We rent a torch to serve as a light for P70.

We recommend bring your own water!
The water sold in the area looks like this |
 |
| Eating up to gain energy! |
 |
| Perfect time to capture this lifelong memories! <3 |

There are so many beautiful areas in the place! Explore as much as you can!
 |
| Wacky!! |
When darkness came, we decided to make our bonfire. Don't let darkness stop you from wandering around! Because it is low tide, many sea creatures are at the shallow part of the water. There are different kinds of sea species like fish, mudskipper, jellyfish, crabs, shrimp, sea urchin, sea snake, sea slug, hermit crab, star fish and more! I was really happy with what I saw! :) The sky was also filled with stars. I stared at the sky for about 30mins and I already saw 2 shooting stars! You can never experience that in the Metro, right?

The beauty of Burot doesn't stop at sunset. The sunrise was amazing as well!

Wanting to make the most out of our vacation, we explored the area agin in the morning :) (PS. we are wearing the same clothes because we can't have a shower at night. There is no electricity in the area! Haha)

| We made a friend! This dog was guarding us throughout or stay. We named him 'Burot' |
On our way back to Manila, we had a stop at Tagaytay for our some hot Bulalo. The view is always stunning!
The place is ideal for group outings and those who love campings. You have no choice but to stay beside the sea because there are no available cottages. The CR and the shower room are the only downside. Let's just say I rate it 4.5 out of 10. Haha.
Overall, the experience was amazing! It is really fun to go on a place where only nature matters. No electricity, no disturbances. Just the people you love and the memories you make.
Plan your trip now and discover the hidden paradise that is Burot beach :)
